The issue of an unexpected token '<' was encountered in both boostrap.js and chart.js

While trying to add boostrap.min.js to my hosting server, I encountered the error message Unexpected token <. However, when I used the bootstrap CDN, it worked perfectly. I thought I wouldn't have any further issues until integrating Angular-Chart.js, where I faced the same problem.

Here is my current include structure:

Answer №1

When AngularJs throws an error, it may be due to missing resources. It's important to ensure that all scripts and styles in the head tag are properly linked. One common solution is to check for any missing styles, such as adding:

<link href="app/views/css/angular-chart.css" rel="stylesheet">

This simple step can often resolve the issue. I encountered a similar error when using a script with a source of "#".

According to discussions on Github, installing bower can also help alleviate this problem.

This situation typically arises when a necessary resource is not properly defined in the index.html file.

By checking the console.log in your server terminal, you might identify which resource is missing. The missing one will likely have a 404 status code, while others should show either 200 or 304 (cached).
