Seeking assistance with incorporating dds textures into three.js

After successfully loading the model in Blender with all the textures applied, I encountered a challenge when exporting it to obj + mtl. The exported textures were saved as .dds files and now I am unsure how to properly apply them in threejs. https://i.sstatic.net/RL26G.pnghttps://i.sstatic.net/eg9jP.png

Answer №1

If you're working with a MTL file that contains references to DDS textures, then it's necessary to integrate the DDSLoader into your project and utilize the following code snippet:

var manager = new THREE.LoadingManager();
manager.addHandler( /\.dds$/i, new DDSLoader() );

var mtlLoader = new MTLLoader( manager );

The standard method for handling OBJ/MTL files is by implementing this technique for loading DDS textures in the character model.
