Exporting JavaScript formatting in Netbeans is a breeze

Does anyone know how to preserve the formatting for JavaScript in Netbeans 8.1 when exporting?

After clicking on the export button and expanding Formatting, I couldn't find any option specifically for JavaScript.

I've thought about locating the file where these settings are saved and using that, but I'm not sure of its location within the Netbeans folder.

Appreciate any assistance or suggestions!

Answer №1

After a thorough search, I finally located the file org-netbeans-modules-editor-settings-CustomPreferences.xml tucked away in the directory \AppData\Roaming\NetBeans\8.1\config\Editors\text\javascript\Preferences. Passing this file along to a colleague, they simply placed it in the corresponding directory and relaunched the IDE, successfully mirroring the formatting settings I had meticulously configured. Sharing the file turned out to be the straightforward solution.

Perhaps this experience can assist someone facing a similar issue down the road.
