Decals in Three.js

Is it possible to apply a decal to a 3D OBJ model using three.js?

var loader = new THREE.OBJMTLLoader();
            loader.addEventListener( 'load', function ( event ) {
                object = event.content;
                scene.add(object);
            });

            loader.load('test.obj', 'test.mtl');

Answer №1

It might be necessary for you to provide a position, just like I did: var loader = new THREE.OBJMTLLoader(); loader.addEventListener( 'load', function ( event ) { house = event.content; house.scale.x = house.scale.y = house.scale.z = 14.5; house.position.y=-40;

    house.updateMatrix();
    scene.add(house);
});
loader.load(
        'entities/entity_1/obj_model/house.obj',
        'entities/entity_1/obj_model/house.mtl');
