Command is not displaying JavaScript

Having difficulty grasping the task at hand. As a Mac user, my goal is to construct a 3D portfolio but I'm facing challenges. The issue lies in JavaScript not appearing on Variants. Upon entering "npm init vite.js/app," a framework is generated, followed by selecting Vanilla and then awaiting the appearance of a variant that includes JavaScript in the Package JSON.

Seeking assistance, please help.

Answer №1

Vite has made a change in how they showcase variants.

If you prefer to use JavaScript, simply choose vanilla. (Do not select vanilla-ts, as that is the TypeScript version)

The term "Vanilla" means "without any modification", so in this context, the first occurrence of "vanilla" suggests no additional library added (e.g., react, vue, svelte, etc.), while the second part indicates the absence of TypeScript.

Don't forget to navigate to the new app's directory using cd and execute npm install to install your packages.
