When working with an Angular application, IE9 may display the error message: "An internal error occurred in the Microsoft Internet extensions"

My application is encountering an issue in IE9:

Error: A Microsoft Internet Extensions internal error has occurred. Error: Access is denied.

When using IE's dev tools for debugging, the issue seems to be related to localStorage.

if (localStorage) {
  // code block
} else {
  // code block
}

I'm uncertain if this problem stems from angular-IE compatibility or is solely an IE issue. Your help is greatly appreciated!

Answer №1

Is your application being run on a local server? Keep in mind that IE9 does not support local storage for files stored locally.

You can find more detailed explanations about this issue here: local storage in IE9 fails when the website is accessed directly from the file system
