When attempting to access elements within a form, the document.getElementById function returned undefined for all

Currently, I am working on performing calculations using various form inputs. However, when attempting to retrieve their values using

document.getElementById('income').value
, all the elements (checkboxes, text fields, etc.) are returning as undefined.
