What methods can be used to prefill formatted HTML content when launching an email client?

My first step is to generate the formatted html code:

onClick={(_) => {
        const content = `Check out what I found ..<div></div`;

Next, I set the content variable

window.location.href = `mailto:<a href="/cdn-cgi/l/email-protection" class="__cf_email__" data-cfemail="8efbfdebfcceebf6efe3fee2eba0ede1e3">[email protected]</a>?subject=Apply or Share and win $250&body=${content}`

Unfortunately, in Apple Mail it appears differently than expected:

Answer №1

This question may have similarities with the one discussed in this previous post.

According to the responses in that thread, using HTML to format the body in a mailto link is not supported.

However, there are alternative methods to achieve the desired outcome. I won't go into detail here since it's already thoroughly covered in the linked question.
