What is the process for setting up a Discord channel exclusively for media with a bot? (Using JavaScript)

Seeking guidance on coding my Discord Bot (Js) to only delete text messages in a specific channel, while preserving images and videos. Does anyone have suggestions on how this can be achieved?

Answer №1

To determine if a message contains attachments, you can access the attachments property of the Message object in Discord.js. This property returns a Collection of MessageAttachment objects.

client.on("message", message => {
    // Check if the message author is a bot.
    if (message.author.bot) return false;

    // Delete the message if it does not contain any attachments.
    if (message.attachments.size === 0) message.delete();
});
