What is the process for generating an Angular JS Material Component using a JavaScript Function?

Issue: My webpage features an md-card with a button that, when clicked, should reveal another card. However, the button on the new card does not function correctly and is not properly formatted.

Inquiry: What specific adjustments do I need to make in order for the code to work as intended? Thank you.

Code Snippet: Here is my JavaScript code:

angular.module('MyApp', ['ngMaterial', 'ngMessages', 'material.svgAssetsCache'])
    .controller('AppCtrl', function($scope, $mdDialog) {

    function addButtonElement() {
        var newDiv = document.createElement("md-card");
        document.querySelector('#myID').appendChild(newDiv);
        newDiv.innerHTML = "<md-card-content>Oh no! Why does this button not work?<br>"+
                            "<md-button class='md-warn' ng-click='my_print_to_console()'>Button :( </md-button>"+
                            "</md-card-content>";
    }

    $scope.my_print_to_console = function() {
        addButtonElement();
    };

});

This is the corresponding HTML:

<head>
    <meta charset="UTF-8">
    <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1">

    <script src="https://www.gstatic.com/firebasejs/5.8.4/firebase-app.js"></script>

                        <md-button class="md-warn" ng-click="my_print_to_console();">Button :)</md-button>

Answer №1

The reason for this issue is that Angular does not recognize this as an Angular component. To resolve it, you should enclose your HTML code within the $compile service.

  1. Include '$compile' in your module dependencies
  2. Wrap your code like this:

$compile('your html here')($scope);
