I've come across loaders for individual objects and elements, but is there a way to save and load entire scenes in three.js?
A solution to this problem is to utilize the THREE.SceneLoader:
For exporting, follow these steps:
var exporter = new THREE.SceneExporter();
var sceneJson = JSON.stringify(exporter.parse(scene));
When importing, use the following code:
var sceneLoader = new THREE.SceneLoader();
sceneLoader.parse(JSON.parse(json), function (e) {scene = e.scene;}, '.');
Here is an example for reference: https://github.com/josdirksen/learning-threejs/blob/master/chapter-08/04-load-save-json-scene.html
The source files for the loader and exporters can be found here:
It appears that the scene exporter feature has been phased out. Instead, developers can now utilize the GLTFExporter.
