Ways to activate an analysis when a component is re-rendered?

Is there a way to trigger an analytic when the search bar is used to search in the LibraryManager component and it gets re-rendered with the search value? The render function seems like the best option for adding the analytics trigger, but are there any other functions in lit that can achieve this without causing side effects?

Answer №1

Should you find it impossible to call the analytic instance from within the render method, consider listening for the onChange event of the search bar input instead. Upon the firing of this event, execute the analytics call in the callback function.

Remember to both subscribe and unsubscribe from the event as needed.
