How can I resolve this issue? I have attempted removing the lock file without success. The Node.js version being used is v16.13.2.

Answer №1

There is a common issue that arises when you mistakenly use npm install in a yarn project and later realize your mistake, leading you to run yarn install. This can result in corruption of the yarn.lock file. To fix this problem, follow these steps:

rm package-lock.json
rm yarn.lock
git checkout <old-hash> yarn.lock

Answer №2

In my experience, I found success by following these steps:

$ rm package-lock.json    # delete the package-lock.json file

$ yarn install # successfully install and update the yarn.lock file
