Tips for reordering the default key value pairs in a JavaScript object

**

When working in JavaScript, I am trying to achieve a specific output by sorting all key-value pairs. How can I accomplish this efficiently?

let obj1 =  {"business": false, "economy": true, "first": false, "premium": true}
expected output = { "economy": true, "premium": true,"business": false, "first": false}
expected output = { "economy": true, "premium": true,"business": false, "first": false}

Answer №1

Items in objects do not follow a specific order, unlike those in arrays. It is recommended to use arrays for ordered data.

let obj1 = {"business": false, "economy": true, "first": false, "premium": true}

const obj1Order = ["economy", "premium", "business", "first"]

for(let key of obj1Order){
  console.log(obj1[key])
}

Alternatively,

let obj1 = [{"business": false}, {"economy": true}, {"first": false}, {"premium": true}]

for(let element of obj1){
  console.log(element)
}
