Tips for positioning a highcharts pie chart and legend in the middle of a page

I'm struggling to center my highchart data in a node/react single page application. Currently, it appears off-center like this:

https://i.stack.imgur.com/ccR6N.png

The chart is floating to the left and I would like to have everything centered within the orange box in the middle. I've searched through the highcharts api documentation but can't seem to find a solution. You can view the jsfiddle here: http://jsfiddle.net/tobitobetoby/1fqvzpdn/36/ (even though it's centered in jsfiddle, it floats to the left on a web/html page)

chart = new Highcharts.Chart({
  chart: {
      renderTo: 'container',
      type: 'pie',
      events: {
        load: function(event) {
          var chart = this,
            points = chart.series[0].points,
            len = points.length,
            total = 0,
            i = 0;
          for (i = 0; i < len; i++) {
            total += points[i].y;
          }
          chart.setTitle({
            text: '<br>€' + total,
            verticalAlign: 'middle',
            style: {
              fontFamily: 'Arial,Roboto,Helvetica,sans-serif',
              fontWeight: 'bold',
              fontSize: 34
            },
          });
          // Adding 'transaction' label - labels below don't support images/icons
          this.renderer.label("<div class='transactions' style='fontSize:20px !important;'><img style='width:25px; height:25px; position:relative; top:7px;' src='https://github.com/tobi-ajala/shell-exercise/blob/master/icons/card.png?raw=true'/> &nbsp Transactions</div>", 120, 130, null, null, null, true).add();
          // Adding date label
          this.renderer.label("<div class='transactions'>11 Sept 2017 - 11 Oct 2017</div>", 95, 225, null, null, null, true).add();
    }
  }
}

Answer №1

After reviewing the entire git repository, it was discovered that the index.js file did not include an import statement for the index.css file, which resulted in the inability to access the necessary css commands. The resolution is as follows: within the index.js file, insert the following line at the top of the code:

import './index.css';

Additionally, within the index.css file, include the following CSS rule:

.highcharts-container {
  margin: 0 auto;
}

By doing so, the Highcharts div will be centered on the page.

Answer №2

Make sure to center the content within the div element. Simply include the attribute align="center" within the div. Check out the revised example

Answer №3

Include the following line in your JavaScript function:

legend: {
    backgroundColor: '#F5F5F5',
    layout: 'horizontal',
    floating: true,
    align: 'center',
    verticalAlign: 'top'
 }
