The Vue component with the export default directive could not be located

Whenever I try to create a dashboard component, I keep encountering the same error in my command prompt.

  • "export 'default' (imported as 'DashboardLayoutComponent') was not found in '@syncfusion/ej2-vue-layouts'

Has anyone else faced this issue before and found a solution?

Answer №1

As specified in the documentation, it seems that DashboardLayoutComponent is a named export. Therefore, you need to import it like this:

import { DashboardLayoutPlugin } from '@syncfuion/ej2-vue-layouts';

Make sure to include the { } when importing.

Answer №2

It is important to register a Vue component using the default keyword as shown in this example:

import { MyComponent } from './MyComponent.vue' // if exported as normal
// import MyComponent from './MyComponent.vue' // if exported as default

export default { // registering the component with default
  components: {
    MyComponent
  },
  // code
}
