The "users" property or method has not been defined in Vue.js applications

During the development of my Vue.js shopping cart, I encountered an issue where I wanted to display the username in a label after the user provided correct information. However, I received the following error in Google Chrome:

vue.js:634 [Vue warn]: Property or method "users" is not defined on the instance but referenced during render. Make sure that this property is reactive, either in the data option, or for class-based components, by initializing the property. See: https://v2.vuejs.org/v2/guide/reactivity.html#Declaring-Reactive-Properties. (found in )

Here is the HTML code I have:

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html lang="en">
<head>
    <title>Bootstrap Example</title>
    <meta charset="utf-8">
    <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1">
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="bootstap.css">
    <script src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/3.3.1/jquery.min.js"></script>
    <script src="https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/popper.js/1.14.0/umd/popper.min.js"></script>
    <script src="https://maxcdn.bootstrapcdn.com/bootstrap/4.1.0/js/bootstrap.min.js"></script>
    <script src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/npm/vue/dist/vue.js"></script>
    <script src="https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/axios/0.19.0/axios.min.js">

    </script>
</head>
<body>
    <!-- Your HTML content goes here -->
</body>
</html>

Additionally, I have included a screenshot of the output which can be viewed here.

Answer №1

data: {
  people: [],
  newTask: '',
  userId: 0,
  link: '/tasks',
  isActive: false,
  items: [],
  suppliers: []
},

Your information should follow this format. This is necessary because you are referencing this.people or people in the template, but it has not been defined within the instance. You must specify these properties within the data section to ensure they are reactive as well.
