The Mailchimp 404 JavaScript error has occurred, file missing in action

I pasted a Mailchimp embedded form directly from Mailchimp, but I encountered the following error in the console log:

GET http://s3.amazonaws.com/downloads.mailchimp.com/js/jquery.min.map 404 (Not Found)

Here is the HTML code for it within Rails:

<link href="//cdn-images.mailchimp.com/embedcode/classic-081711.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css">
<style type="text/css">
#mc_embed_signup{background:#fff; clear:left; font:14px Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif; }
</style>

<div class="mc-investors">
  ...
</div>

<script type='text/javascript' src='//s3.amazonaws.com/downloads.mailchimp.com/js/mc-validate.js'></script>
<script type='text/javascript'>(function($) {window.fnames = new Array(); window.ftypes = new Array();fnames[1]='FNAME';ftypes[1]='text';fnames[2]='LNAME';ftypes[2]='text';fnames[0]='EMAIL';ftypes[0]='email';fnames[3]='MMERGE3';ftypes[3]='text';}(jQuery));var $mcj = jQuery.noConflict(true);</script>

Your assistance with this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Answer №1

I found Jquery duplicated in both my application.js file and the mailchimp template, causing a conflict.
