It has come to my attention that a peculiar behavior occurs when the name in the package.json file does not match the name of the project root directory.
projectroot/package.json with name="projectroot" => results in no name in package-lock.json
projectroot/package.json with name="differentname" => results in name="differentname" in package-lock.json
Encountering a similar issue, I managed to resolve it by deleting the package name entry in the package.json file. Simply delete the following line:
