Swap out flash for javascript

I am embarking on a new task: replacing the flash element with JavaScript on this page: (switching images for buttons for each image)

Naturally, it must maintain the same appearance and functionality. I have come across some jQuery modules that achieve something similar, but not quite the same. Has anyone encountered a module like this?

Thank you for your assistance, Peter

It seems that your client may not have meant exactly the same. One possible solution could be to implement a carousel or lightbox control and utilize CSS for button positioning over images.

From what I understand, this can be achieved through image fading at specific intervals without any complex functionality. It can even be accomplished without a dedicated control if you have a library supporting animations.

To position buttons:

position: relative;
top: -50px; /* adjust as needed */
margin-left: 20px;
float: left;

You can customize their appearance on :hover with different background-image settings. Additionally, remember to add an empty <div> with clear: both CSS property to maintain document flow.

To ensure they match perfectly, you may want to extract the images for both regular and rollover states from the website and incorporate them into your HTML and CSS code. You can define a rollover effect using the rollover image without much difficulty.

You have the option of implementing the rollover effect using either CSS or JavaScript. In my opinion, CSS is preferable because it doesn't depend entirely on client-side activation of JavaScript.
