Strategies for avoiding JavaScript and Flash navigateToURL attacks

On one of my online platforms, I have integrated third-party flash files. However, I am looking for ways to prevent these flash files from executing any redirects on my website.

Answer №1

To prevent interaction with the Flash file, you will need to make adjustments directly in the code of the file itself. Unfortunately, there is no simple way to do this externally unless the third-party file allows for specific settings to be passed in (which is often unlikely).

If you're looking to disable user interactions with the SWF, one potential solution could involve overlaying it with a transparent div to prevent clicks from registering. However, please note that this approach may not provide an ideal or foolproof solution.
