Prevent user input when an alert window is open

Users keep pressing the enter key multiple times when an alert box pops up, causing them to accidentally dismiss the message by hitting 'ok'. Is there a simple way to prevent key presses on alert windows and only allow mouse input?

Answer №1

Implement a customized modal instead of using the alert box to avoid locking users out of your code until it's dismissed. Source

Answer №2

An effective way to showcase this would be through a modal display with the option to disable corresponding buttons.

To accomplish this, consider utilizing the JQuery Plugin
