JMeter recording displays a script alert error notification

After recording the JMeter script on blazemeter, it initially worked fine on the website. However, upon running the jmx file, I encountered an error message:

"alert("Something went wrong. Please try again");window.history.back();"

I'm not sure if this issue is related to the JMeter script or the application itself. Despite receiving a 200 response from the server, the error persists.

Answer №1

It's highly likely that your script is missing the necessary correlation of dynamic parameters, or that it is not functioning correctly.

In many cases, simply replaying a recorded script won't work for modern web applications that heavily rely on dynamic parameters for tasks such as establishing user sessions, tracking client-side state, ensuring security measures, and more.

To address this issue, you must identify all relevant parameters, extract them using appropriate Post-Processors, and replace any hard-coded values in the script with JMeter Variables sourced from the Post-Processors.

Additionally, make sure to include an HTTP Cookie Manager in your test plan if it has not been added already.
