javascript utilizing the canvas feature to resize and add graphics to an image

Is it possible to leverage Canvas for drawing over images that have been downloaded by users, all while adjusting the scale?

For instance:

  1. User uploads an image
  2. Starts drawing on the image
  3. Zooms out and continues adding more drawings

All modifications are made directly to the original image.

Answer №1

Internet Explorer presents a challenge when working with canvas elements, as it does not support them natively. However, there are workarounds available such as using a library like ex-canvas to achieve similar functionality through VML.

While canvas does offer the ability to import images, it is uncertain if resizing the image upon drawing is supported in VML\IE.

ctx.drawImage(img,j*50,i*38,50,38);
