javascript onload button is selected

I am looking to create a button on page load for my login page in Chrome. I want the login button to be preselected when the page loads, and when I press Enter, the onclick function of the button should be triggered. Any advice on how to achieve this? Thanks.

Answer №1

Of course! The focus function is a great way to set the focus on your button.

Answer №2

give this a shot:

<script>
  window.onload=function(){
    document.getElementById('YourButtonId').focus();
  }
</script>

Answer №3

Is the behavior different in Chrome? When a user is editing any form, should pressing the enter button automatically trigger the submission of the form?

Answer №4

For those utilizing asp.net, consider utilizing the default button property within an asp panel for streamlined functionality with your button.
