JavaScript conflicts will arise due to the introduction of Yammer Embed on September 30th, 2014

Is anyone else encountering problems with Yammer embed causing JavaScript errors today? Our various applications across different technologies (SharePoint, IBM, etc) have been functioning normally for months, but this morning we are suddenly seeing a significant increase in "Object Doesn't Support this method" errors. The issues seem to be resolved once the embed scripts are removed.

Answer №1

We encountered a similar issue where Yammer was causing conflicts with jQuery. Our solution involved arranging the Yammer script tags before the jQuery script tags/Script links in our code.

To resolve this, make sure to place the following scripts above any reference to jQuery:

<script id='YammerScript' src='https://assets.yammer.com/assets/platform_embed.js' type='text/javascript'></script>
<script id='YammerScript2' src='https://assets.yammer.com/assets/platform_js_sdk.js' type='text/javascript'></script>
