It appears that the SignalR proxy is not defined

Why is $.connection.connectionhub showing as undefined? I am using webform.

<script src="/scripts/jquery-1.6.4.min.js"></script>
    <!--Reference the SignalR library. -->

    <!--Add script to update the page and send messages.-->
    <script type="text/javascript">
        $(function () {

            $.connection()
            // why it is  undefined
            var chat = $.connection.connectionhub;

Answer №1

I have managed to find a solution, but I am not completely satisfied with how this code behaves. Can someone please provide more insight?

When I use the following code, everything works perfectly:

var hubb = $.connection.connectionHub;

However, when I write the code as follows: //only h is small it doesn't work var hubb = $.connection.connectionhub;

Could someone explain the logic behind this discrepancy?
