Below is the code snippet for implementing a Bootstrap 4 collapse feature:
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1">
<link rel="stylesheet" href="https://maxcdn.bootstrapcdn.com/bootstrap/4.1.0/css/bootstrap.min.css">
<script src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/3.3.1/jquery.min.js"></script>
<script src="https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/popper.js/1.14.0/umd/popper.min.js"></script>
<script src="https://maxcdn.bootstrapcdn.com/bootstrap/4.1.0/js/bootstrap.min.js"></script>
</head>
<body>
<div class="container">
<h2>Simple Collapsible</h2>
<p>Click on the button to toggle between showing and hiding content.</p>
<button type="button" class="btn btn-primary" data-toggle="collapse" data-target="#demo">Simple collapsible</button>
<div id="demo" class="collapse">
</div>
</div>
</body>
</html>
Your code looks great, but the issue lies in the ordering. You forgot to include jQuery since Bootstrap is dependent on jQuery.
Check out my example on CodePen: `http://codepen.io/AElkhodary/pen/odqYxP`
Check out this code snippet for creating a collapsible element:
<button data-toggle="collapse" data-target="#example">Click to Collapse</button>
<div id="example" class="collapse">
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet...
</div>
In order for the content to collapse, ensure that the data-toggle="collapse"
attribute is included in the designated anchor tag
or button
. Additionally, the content you want to collapse must have the class collapse
.
