Issue: Unable to locate module - Unable to resolve 'core-js/modules/es.error.cause.js'

I've incorporated Vuexy Dashboard into my project, which utilizes Vue 2. Now, I'm in the process of upgrading it to Vue 3. However, I have encountered an error that has me stuck. Any assistance with this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Below is a snippet from my package.json file:

{
  "name": "vuexy-vuejs-react-html-laravel-admin-dashboard-template",
  "version": "6.4.0",
  "private": true,
  "scripts": {
    "serve": "vue-cli-service serve --skip-plugins @vue/cli-plugin-eslint",
    "build": "vue-cli-service build",
    "lint": "vue-cli-service lint"
  },
  // Remaining dependencies and devDependencies omitted for brevity...
}

Upon running npm run serve, these are the errors that I am encountering:

ERROR in ./node_modules/@babel/runtime/helpers/esm/nonIterableSpread.js 1:0-43
Module not found: Error: Can't resolve 'core-js/modules/es.error.cause.js' in 'Desktop\consigliere-vue-laravel\e-commerce\frontend\node_modules\@babel\runtime\helpers\esm'

Answer №1

After much searching, I finally found a solution that worked for me on this informative blog post:

Essentially, the steps to resolve the issue are:

  1. Remove all dependencies in your node_modules folder.
npm rm -rf node_modules

  1. Begin by installing core-js.
npm install --save core-js

  1. Lastly, install all remaining dependencies.
npm install
yarn install

Following these steps should resolve the issue and everything should function as expected. It certainly did for me!

Wishing you a great day ahead!

Answer №2

I encountered a problem with my two projects that had differences due to using yarn and npm. The issue arose because I mistakenly installed jest globally with yarn, causing conflicts with the jest version. To resolve this, I executed yarn remove global jest and successfully resolved the conflict.
