Is there a way to generate a WordPress view to produce a JSON file for Javascript utilization on a webpage?

Can I replicate the functionality of a Drupal site in WordPress, where a dynamic JSON file is generated from a custom content type and used by javascript to display a map using D3 code?

Answer №1

Sorry, I'm a bit confused by the question. As far as I know, WordPress has a REST API available by default. Could you provide more details?

UPDATE:

To view the available endpoints, simply go to yoursite.com/wp-json. When you add a custom post type, it will automatically be accessible in the REST API. The endpoint name defaults to the same as the custom post type's name, but you can change it by including the rest_base property in the custom post type definition.
