Is it possible to switch the linter in grunt.js to jslint instead?

Is it feasible to switch the linter used by grunt.js from jshint to jslint, considering that I am more accustomed to using jslint over jshint as the default linter?

Answer №2

While there isn't a pre-existing solution available, you have the option to develop your own grunt task for JSLint by utilizing grunt's api: https://example.com/custom-grunt-task

The process is quite straightforward; you can refer to the tasks directory in grunt's source code for guidance on implementation. https://example.com/grunt-tasks-guide

If a specific npm module for JSLint doesn't already exist, creating one yourself is also feasible. Simply draft a package.json file detailing your JSLint node module and proceed to publish it. For additional information, refer to the npm home page.

Furthermore, you have the option to align JSHint's configuration options with those of JSLint. Many options are interchangeable, and JSHint offers an expanded array of options not present in JSLint. The basic workflow remains consistent: annotate your code with comments and execute it. :)
