Just a heads up, in the latest version of Selenium IDE (1.3.0), the Selenium object now includes a nifty doEcho function that comes in handy. It even logs messages in the Selenium IDE log.
For those occasions when you're working on a User extension, you can utilize the following syntax:
Selenium.prototype.fetchData = function(location,text) {
this.doEcho(text);
return "Data fetched successfully";
}
To access the Selenium internal logger, you can locate the LOG object within the Selenium object. You can try using
selenium.LOG.info('blah blah blah')
, or maybe window.top.LOG.info('blah blah blah')
.
