Is it permissible for me to incorporate a package from the dependencies listed in the package-lock.json file into my

I'm looking to incorporate date-fns into my project. I currently have react-datepicker, which also uses date-fns. Can I simply utilize date-fns from react-datepicker, or do I need to install it separately in my project?

Answer №1

Absolutely, it is indeed feasible to utilize modules that have been integrated as dependencies within other modules directly, typically without encountering any complications.

For added precaution, make sure to install those modules and include them in your package.json file. Interestingly, even if you install a module multiple times, only one folder for each module will be created!

Evidence: The dependencies of other modules can be found at the root level of the node_modules directory rather than within the directory of the installed module itself.
