I'd like to know how to retrieve the start and end dates of a specific month using JavaScript

How can I retrieve the start and end date of the current month?

   const currentDate = new Date();
   const startOfMonth = new Date(currentDate.getFullYear(), currentDate.getMonth(), 1);
   const endOfMonth = new Date(currentDate.getFullYear(), currentDate.getMonth() + 1, 0);

Answer №1

Give this a shot:

function DisplayDate($scope){
   var currentDate = new Date(), year = date.getFullYear(), month = date.getMonth();
   var firstDayOfMonth = new Date(year, month, 1);
   var lastDayOfMonth = new Date(year, month + 1, 0);
   $scope.firstDayOfMonth = firstDayOfMonth ;
   $scope.lastDayOfMonth = lastDayOfMonth ;
   $scope.currentDate = currentDate ;
}

Then use it like this:

<div ng-app ng-controller="DisplayDate">
<ul>
    <li>{{currentDate | date:'yyyy-MM-dd'}}</li>
    <li>{{firstDayOfMonth | date:'yyyy-MM-dd'}}</li>
    <li>{{lastDayOfMonth | date:'yyyy-MM-dd'}}</li>
</ul>
