How can one restrict the display of fields in the Meteor aldeed tabular package?

How can I restrict certain data from being displayed in an aldeed tabular datatable? For instance, if my collection includes attributes A, B, C, D and attribute C contains sensitive information that should not be published, is there a way to prevent it from showing up in the datatable? I have reviewed the documentation but did not find a clear solution...

Appreciate any help on this matter!

Answer №1

To improve performance, it is advised to eliminate the autopublish package.

In addition, it is recommended to restrict the fields returned from a query, specifically in the publish function.

Meteor.publish('dataTable',function(){
  return Data.find({}, { fields: { A: true, B: true, C: false, D: true } });
}

Then simply subscribe to that publish

Meteor.subscribe('dataTable')

Please note that if the collection is located in the /lib folder, ensure the subscription remains reactive by using:

Tracker.autorun(function(){
 Meteor.subscribe('dataTable')
})
