Guide on executing a jar file using JavaScript and obtaining a JSON output

Is there a way to execute and capture the output of a jar file that returns a json using javascript?

Answer №1

It seems like there is no browser-side Java compiler available, so the best option would be to use JavaScript on the backend. I recommend utilizing nodejs

const { exec } = require('child_process');
exec('java -jar /file/to/path.jar',(error, stdout, stderr) => {
    console.log(stdout);
    console.log(stderr);
    if (error !== null) {
        console.log(`exec error: ${error}`);
    }
});
