Flickering Zoom Issue in Google Maps Version 3

Recently, I've encountered a frustrating issue when zooming in on my map with a groundoverlay. Each time I zoom, the overlay flickers and causes my markers to rearrange. This constant reloading of the overlay results in white flickering, making it disappear for a second or two.

You can see the problem in action on my application here:

I'm wondering if this is just how it works, or if there's a way to eliminate the flickering altogether?

Thank you for any help in advance!

Unfortunately, it is not possible as Google loads its images in a specific way. While some may consider this question to be foolish, it remains unanswered on Stack Overflow.
