Filtering options in a webpage's dropdown menu

I am developing a website that includes a dropdown menu with approximately 60 options listed in alphabetical order. I am interested in finding a way to efficiently filter through the options by pressing a specific key on the keyboard, such as 'e', and have the selection automatically move down to the options starting with 'e'. I have been searching on Google for a solution but haven't had any success so far. Any guidance on the correct search terms would be greatly appreciated.
