Extracting public data from social media profiles as displayed in Smartr

Is there any pre-existing API or reference material available for achieving this task? I am interested in accessing public social data without the need for users to manually link their accounts to our site.

Answer №1

If you're looking to gather users' public social information using either their email or phone number, the FullContact API is a great option.

For more information, visit:

You can also check out the API documentation here:

(It's important to note that for privacy reasons, user authentication is required to access private data directly from the source. However, FullContact can provide public social information without the need for authentication.)

(Full disclosure - I currently work for FullContact, but I was using their API for a year before joining the team. I thought it would be helpful to share this information relevant to your question.)

Answer №2

A user without an authorized access_token may face restrictions on the data they can access.

Answer №3

For security and privacy purposes, it is mandatory for all API calls made to LinkedIn to be done through an authenticated user's account.
