Exploring the capabilities of the Django FormWizard: utilizing JavaScript for dynamic display of form fields

I'm currently working with Formwizard and I have a step where users need to enter 4 phone numbers. I want to provide an 'Add another phone number' button that they can click to reveal more input fields, controlled by JavaScript. I've searched for examples of this but haven't found any. Is it feasible to achieve this functionality with Formwizard and incorporate JavaScript?

Answer №1

If you're looking to customize form behavior for specific steps, this plugin can help:

The unique aspect of this solution is that it enables targeted functionality for individual steps within a formwizard:

<form action="" {% if wizard.steps.step1 == 2 %} id="phone"{% endif %} method="post">
    {% csrf_token %}

    <script type="text/javascript">
        $(function() {
            $('#phone tbody tr').formset({
                prefix: '{{wizard.form.prefix}}'
            });
        })
    </script>
