establish a compacted directory shortcut within alfresco

Although I'm not highly skilled in Javascript, I am in need of creating a webscript for Alfresco that can generate an alias [A] for a folder (space) [B].

If the structure of [B] appears as companyhome/site/special/my/fo/ld/de/r,

[A] should be structured like companyhome/site/myfolder

and function as an alias (secondary node parent?) pointing to [B].

I want this webscript to run every time a new folder is created under companyhome/site/special/

Answer №1

What is the purpose of running a webscript? Instead of utilizing the repository JavaScript API and placing it in Company Home > Data Dictionary > Scripts, you can trigger it to run based on a rule.

If there is a need to access an external URL, you can refer to the method outlined in Making HTTP Requests from WebScripts in Alfresco to achieve this through your JavaScript action.
