Error encountered: Unable to access properties of an undefined element, specifically 'keyboard'

Why am I encountering this issue? I am checking the carousel.js file.

_addEventListeners() {
    if (this._config.keyboard) {
      EventHandler.on(this._element, EVENT_KEYDOWN, event => this._keydown(event))
    }
}

I encountered a similar issue as well. After upgrading to use "bootstrap": "^5.2.1", the problem was resolved, although the root cause was not clear to me.

When copying code samples from the bootstrap website, double-check the element IDs for accuracy. I had to make some adjustments to mine.

If you are using Vue, ensure that the DOM is fully loaded:

  // import { Carousel } from 'bootstrap'
  // import * as bootstrap from 'bootstrap'
  import Carousel from 'bootstrap/js/dist/carousel'
  onMounted(() => {
    const carousel = new Carousel('#myCarousel')
  })

I also followed the import statement adjustments outlined in this guide: https://getbootstrap.com/docs/5.2/customize/optimize/

Based on my experience, I believe the error may be related to the element parameter rather than the config parameter, as indicated by the error message
