Do I need to recompile anything after making changes to a node module in my vue.js project in order for the modifications to take effect? The updates are not appearing as expected

Currently tackling a Vue.js project and came across an issue with the Bootstrap-vue module that I would like to remove. After locating the section in the module responsible for this behavior, I commented it out. But strangely, the changes are not showing up in the project. Have I overlooked something important?

Answer №1

  • It is strongly recommended not to modify the node_modules packages directly.

  • If you wish to view the changes, execute yarn install or npm install depending on the package used in your project. Then, launch your local server and the modifications should be visible.

Important: When collaborating with a team or engaging in peer programming, avoid altering the node_modules directory. The package.json file could overwrite any changes made by others if using Git to share code.
