Deactivate a SCO SCORM 2004

Is there a way to deactivate a SCO using JavaScript in SCORM 2004 4th edition? I am having trouble accessing the SCO with JS, but I can disable it using SCORM. My goal is to disable the SCO after three failed quiz attempts. Any suggestions on how to achieve this?

Answer №1

While it's not possible to disable the SCORM communication with JavaScript, you can manipulate navigation using JS to move users to or from the SCO. This requires correct configuration of sequencing and navigation in imsmanifest.xml. Take a look at this guide on how to implement SCORM 2004 attemptLimit for more information.

When navigating SCOs with JS, adjust the adl.nav.request to "previous" if the user fails the test, or "continue" if they pass.
