Communication through Collaboration Diagrams

For my software engineering project, I am working on creating communication diagrams. However, I am struggling with understanding how to draw if-then statements. Can anyone provide assistance with this?

I have tried looking on YouTube for tutorials, but unfortunately, the explanations I found only cover basic examples without if-then statements.

Answer №1

Unlike activity diagrams, communication diagrams focus on depicting the actual interactions that occur in a scenario without including any conditional statements such as if/then. This makes them a snapshot of the scenario with decisions already made.

If you want to include if/then statements in your diagram, you should revert back to using Activity diagrams.
