Avoid special characters (metacharacters and diacritical marks)

When my program consumes data from an API, it receives the following output:

"Item card","","81","80","63","65","62","38933",700," Ver Comprar

Mas información

"]

This data includes escaped characters and special characters that need to be converted to normal HTML. Is there any JavaScript function available to achieve this without any library?

Answer №1

To properly unescape special characters in response, a straightforward method is to utilize unescape(response). This will allow you to seamlessly incorporate the unescaped content into any function that accepts HTML code, such as insertAdjacentHTML.
