Similar to how Fiddler allows you to monitor the communication between client and server, I am looking for a tool that can analyze all network traffic generated by client-side JavaScript on a webpage.

If you're looking to analyze browser traffic, Firebug for Firefox is your best bet!
With Firebug's net panel, you can easily view all the traffic your browser is handling. For specific AJAX requests, simply navigate to the XHR tab.
For more detailed information, check out the net section on the Firebug website.
If you need to monitor all JavaScript activity, Firebug's Console panel with the profile feature will do the trick.
And if you require a tool specifically for Internet Explorer, consider trying dynaTrace AJAX Edition which offers detailed profiling tailored for IE.
