As a novice JavaScript developer, I am currently working on creating a ping pong game with a computer opponent. However, there seems to be a bug in my code that

Here is the link to my code for you: . The issue I am facing is that when the ball hits the paddle, it passes right through it without bouncing off. I would appreciate it if you could take a look at my code and notes and provide me with guidance on how to resolve this problem. Thank you for your assistance. Please refrain from making any modifications to my code.

Answer №1

You're almost there! The problem lies in your collision checking logic. Specifically, on line 35, you are currently comparing

circleX==372.5

Instead, what you should be doing is comparing

circleX>=372.5

When it comes to collision detection, it's important to avoid using '==' because the value of circleX will most likely never be exactly 372.5.
