Angular's ng-include functionality allows developers to dynamically load

As a beginner in angular.js, I've written my first 'hello world' script. I'm attempting to use ng-include to bring in a navbar from the local file /templates/nav.html. Despite following a tutorial closely, I'm struggling to understand why it's not working.

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
    <meta charset="utf-8" />
    <title>Hello World</title>

    <link href="https://maxcdn.bootstrapcdn.com/bootstrap/3.3.5/css/bootstrap.min.css" rel="stylesheet">
   <link href="css/styles.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
</head>
<body ng-app="app">
    <header ng-include src="'templates/nav.html'">
    </header>
    <div ui-view></div>
    <section>
    </section>
    <footer>
    </footer>
    <script src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/angularjs/1.0.8/angular.min.js"></script>
    <script src="https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/angular-ui-router/0.2.15/angular-ui-router.min.js"></script>
    <script src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.11.3/jquery.min.js"></script>
<script src="js/app.js"></script>

</body>

This is the content of my js/app.js file:

angular
.module('app', [
'ui.router'
]);

The contents of templates/nav.html are just the default bootstrap navbar. Can anyone point out what mistake I might be making?

Answer №1

To properly set up your angular app, make sure to include the js/app.js file as a script tag in your HTML file. Without this, the angular app will not be initialized.

Insert the following line as the final script inclusion:

<script src="js/app.js"></script>

Answer №2

Make sure to follow this format:

<div ng-include="'templates/navbar.html'"></div>

Also, remember to place the header tag within your navbar.html file.
