AngularJS - automatically submitting the initial item

Is there a simple way to automatically select the first item in my ng-repeat when the list is loaded for the user?

Currently, I am using ng-click, but I am unsure of how to automatically trigger a click on the first item.

Here is my ng-repeat:

<div ng-hide="hideMembershipSection" ng-repeat="membership in memberships" class="row">
<div class="membership-box col-lg-9 col-md-9 col-sm-9 col-xs-8">
    <img class="img-responsive" ng-src="/images/onlinesalg_ny/{{ membership.image }}">

    <h1 class="text-uppercase">{{ membership.titel_onlinesalg }}</h1>
    <p>{{ membership.onlinesalg_produktbeskrivelse }}</p>

</div><!-- col-lg-9 -->

<div class="membership-box__price col-lg-3 col-md-3 col-sm-3 col-xs-4 text-center">
    <h1>
        <small>Kr.</small>
        {{ membership.pris }},-
    </h1>
    <button ng-click="selectMembership(membership)" type="button" ng-class='{"btn-success": membership.pid == success}' class="text-uppercase btn btn-primary" ng-disabled="membership.pid == success">{{ membership.pid === success ? "valgt" : "vælg"}}</button>

</div><!-- col-lg-9 -->

Answer №1

Within the controller, following the section where you populate the list into $scope.memberships, have you considered implementing the following line:

chooseMembership($scope.memberships[0]);

This accomplishes a similar outcome to using ng-click, but it occurs after the list has been loaded. The effectiveness of this approach depends on the functionality of your chooseMembership function.

Answer №2

To automatically select the first element using ng-init, you can do something like this:

ng-init="defaultSelection=items[0]"

If you're unsure about the ng-model name, just use a placeholder like defaultSelection

<div ng-hide="hideSection" ng-repeat="item in items" ng-init="defaultSelection=items[0]" class="container">
